720 x 540 images at 293 frames per second
Large 6.9 µm pixels for greater sensitivity
70% quantum efficiency
PGI for superior image quality
Supports multiple stacked AOIs

The ace series of cameras offer fantastic value. This model is built on the Sony Pregius IMX287 1/2.9" sensor. With large 6.9 µm pixels and 70% quantum efficiency, it captures bright images even with with short exposures. Large pixels can also lead to improved depth of field.

This camera features Basler PGI for reduced noise and improved sharpness. This is especially useful when imaging small printed features, such as text and barcodes.

Using a Power over Ethernet (“PoE”) configuration, a single cable may be used to apply camera power and to transfer data between this camera and a PC, keeping cable runs to a minimum. An auxiliary connector is provided for terminating the optically isolated input and output signals – there is one of each. The input may be configured to trigger image acquisition, reset the frame counter, or reset the software trigger count. The output may be configured to indicate acquisition trigger wait, exposure active, flash window, or timer active. Or the output may be controlled via a PC. This camera also has one TTL line that may be configured either as an input or an output. The auxiliary connector may be used to power the camera if PoE is not available.

The Basler ace provides a full set of features to address a wide range of applications. Pixel data can be output in 8 or 12 bit depth. You may adjust the camera’s black level, gain, area of interest, input debounce, and trigger delay. It features automatic exposure control, pixel binning, horizontal image mirroring, event reporting, sending of test images, and a programmable lookup table. There are also “chunk” features that include a frame counter, time stamp, trigger input counter, and CRC checksum calculator. Note that not all features may be available when using third-party software.

This camera has a global shutter for “stop-action” imaging. The camera can output a flash window signal to control the light source.

Because this camera is GigE Vision and GenICam complaint, there are many third party software applications and API’s that are compatible. Basler offers their royalty-free Pylon SDK for 32 and 64 bit Windows, Linux and OSX platforms.
