The new Matrox AltiZ 3D profile cameras capture 3D images that are used for automated inspection or robot guidance. With an IP67 housing, M12 connectors, and Power-over-Ethernet support, the AltiZ is ready for industrial environments.
Other 3D profile cameras use a single image sensor to view the projected laser line. This traditional design suffers from occlusion. And occlusion can mean large areas of an image are missing data.
The Matrox AltiZ uses two image sensors, one upstream, the other downstream from the laser line. This design minimizes occlusion, enabling inspection of features that would be impossible with a single image sensor.
When combined with either the Matrox Imaging Library (“MIL”) or Matrox Design Assistant (“DA”) software, the AltiZ is part of a complete inspection or robot guidance solution. Furthermore, the AlitZ is compatible with third-party software, via its compliance with the GigE Vision and GenDC machine vision standards.
The Matrox AltiZ 3D scanners were recognized among the best in machine vision today by the judges of the Vision Systems Design 2020 Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of esteemed experts from system integrator and end-user companies.
The Matrox AlitZ is offered in small, medium and large sizes for imaging small, medium and large objects.
