The Photoneo PhoXi 3D Scanner S is ideal for locating and inspecting relatively small objects. Examples of such objects include molded, cast, and machined parts, as well as consumer products and food items.

The Photoneo PhoXi 3D scanner generates a calibrated point-cloud that can be used for inspection or robot guidance. Unlike “sheet-of-light” cameras, no motion is required. The camera’s laser projects patterns of light onto your object, a camera captures these patterns, and an integrated GPU interprets the camera’s images. The resulting 3D data is then sent over Ethernet.

The Photoneo PhoXi scanner is compatible with Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) and Matrox Design Assistant, offered by Machine Vision Store. The scanner is also compatible with software from Halcon, LabView, and Adaptive Vision.

For robot guidance, Photoneo offers two options. The 3D Localization software is an SDK that excels at locating partially hidden 3D objects. Feed the SDK the CAD model of your object, capture a scene using the PhoXi scanner, and get the objects’ locations. Ideal for pick and place and associated inspection tasks.

The second option for robot guidance is Bin Picking Studio. Building on the capabilities of the 3D Localization SDK, it includes path planning and integrates with a wide selection of robots.

Each scanner includes the PhoXi Control API, a desktop PoE injector, a 5 meter Ethernet data cable, and two hours of remote factory support.
