The Scout cameras are the workhorse of the Basler product line. Each camera is factory tested and calibrated to deliver consistent performance and reliability.

The Basler Scout cameras have two opto-isolated inputs. Typically one is used to trigger image acquisition and the other is available for use by your software application. The camera has four opto-isolated outputs. These may be configured to control a strobe light, and/or indicate application software status.

Basler Scout cameras provide a full set of features to address a wide range of applications. Pixel data can be output in 8 or 12 bit depth. You may adjust the camera’s gain, brightness, gamma correction, white balance, area of interest, input debounce, strobe delay and strobe duration. It features pixel binning, sending of test images, and a programmable lookup table. There are also “chunk” features that include a frame counter, trigger counter and CRC checksum calculator. Multiple configuration sets may be stored in non-volatile memory. Note that not all features may be available when using third-party software.

Since the Basler royalty-free Pylon SDK is compatible with both Firewire and GigE Vision cameras, you can change to GigE Vision cameras in the future without many software changes.

We also offer versions of this camera having a 90 degree head or CS lens mount.
