THIS CAMERA IS BEING DISCONTINUED BY BASLER. LAST TIME BUY IS JULY 31, 2022.
The Scout cameras are the workhorse of the Basler product line. These field-proven cameras are compatible with the newest machine vision standards including GenICam, GigE Vision, and EMVA 1288. Each camera is factory tested and calibrated to deliver consistent performance and reliability. This model is built on a Sony progressive scan CCD having 659 x 494 pixel resolution. It delivers up to 70 frames per second at full resolution.
The Basler Scout cameras have two connectors, one for gigabit Ethernet, and the other for inputs, outputs and power. The camera has two inputs. Typically one is used to trigger image acquisition and the other is available for use by your software application. The camera has four outputs. These may be configured to indicate acquisition trigger wait, trigger ready, exposure active, timing functions, or application software status.
Basler Scout cameras provide a full set of features to address a wide range of applications. Pixel data can be output in 8 or 12 bit depth. You may adjust the camera’s black level, gain, area of interest, input debounce, and trigger delay. It features automatic exposure control, pixel binning, horizontal image mirroring, event reporting, sending of test images, and a programmable lookup table. There are also “chunk” features that include a frame counter, time stamp, trigger input counter, and CRC checksum calculator. Note that not all features may be available when using third-party software.
Because this camera is GigE Vision and GenICam compliant, there are many third party software applications and API’s that are compatible. Basler offers their royalty-free Pylon SDK for 32 and 64 bit Windows and Linux platforms.
We also offer versions of this camera having a 90 degree head or CS lens mount.
