This Opto Engineering LTCLHP023 telecentric illuminator delivers greater edge contrast than diffuse back lights, and therefore enables higher measurement accuracy.
This illuminator is especially recommended for high accuracy measurement of round or cylindrical parts. Diffuse back lighting often suffers from reflections bouncing off the edges of objects under inspection.
Collimated illumination increases a telecentric lens's natural field depth and telecentricity far beyond its nominal specs.
